NEVAEH; a mythical canine roleplay « Result #3 on Jan 23, 2009, 1:11pm »
Long before the race of mankind roamed these lands, earth, you could say, was full of peace. It was called Nevaeh, or 'Heaven on earth'. Magic existed, things you'd only dream of. A true fantasy. Everything was peaceful, until the age of man. When humans came, it seemed as if Nevaeh was no more. Peace became chaos, and all the beautiful things that made Nevaeh were destroyed. Even the magic. The humans didn't appreciate these things. There for they were unable to see or posses these wondrous things. So all magic vanished. Why should it exist if it's not believed in or it will be misused? Animals of all types, mistreated, neglected, beaten. Or used by others for their own wealth and greed. The gods, furious yet upset cursed mankind. A sickness like no other began to spread in Nevaeh. Wiping out mankind. And only mankind. Slowly, everything blossomed. Nevaeh becoming beautiful. Full of life, and peace. And with it, returned the magic. It carried a few who had been severely affected by the 'darkness' ones who forgot their purpose, or only thought of it for the bad. Their lifeline goes on, as the only shadows in Nevaeh.
If they make the mistakes like mankind had, will the beauty and magic of Nevaeh disappear? Home | Rules | Register

Why do you want to Affiliate with Whispers?:
I wish to affiliate with Whispers because, first of all, this seems like a very interesting and neat site. I liked it when I saw it. It also seems pretty active and, being my site is new, I thought it could help spread the word.
Hello there literate roleplayers. Are you tired of bland Light vs. Dark plots, equine RPGs that all seem the same, and plots that don't affect your character?
Well we've got a surprise for you. At The Secret it's not just about good and evil. In fact, good and evil don't have a lot to do with things. No matter whose side you're on, you can be as nice or as cruel as you see fit. But if you live in the north you'd better be tough if you want to stay alive. Here's a summary of what kinds of characters you can make:
Southern equines: The Resistance. You like freedom and would rather be left to your own devices. Conquering is not really your thing, you just want to be left alone to start a herd. Weakland equines: The Captives. You keep your head down and hope you don't get beaten up too often. You dream of escaping to the south, but know you'll be killed for trying. Mostly mares live here, though there is a small number of stallions. They usually get beaten down the most so they can't rebel. Northern equines: Tartarus's Legions. You work for the mastermind, Tartarus, the one who blew the news about the object of power out into the open. You answer to his captain Atlas, and you spend your time fighting, bullying mares in the Weaklands, and training colts for the army. If you have any spare time you can gather a small herd. Haven of Hesperides: The Secret Keepers. You know not hate nor greed, and you live within the walls of the Haven. You may leave to explore, but other equines seem so different to you. You live in peace and philosophy, seeking knowledge and enlightenment. But you know what is brewing, and the battle will come to your doorstep even though they cannot break down the door.
We are also accepting staff applications for Global Moderators, Graphics Designers and Skin Designer.
What's going on... ?
There was peace once, though by now it is but a distant memory in the minds of those old enough to remember. There was order and cohesion, and nothing to fear. The Keepers of Hesperides stayed within their walled Haven, and none disrupted their peace. There was always a rumor that an object of unspeakable power lay hidden within those great walls, but in time the rumor grew dull with age. But now a young stallion, maddened with greed, is gathering all the information he can about this mysterious object of celestial power. Flanked by the powerful drafts of the northern lands, he is murdering and taking prisoners left and right. There is only a handful of southern herds that stand against him, led by the mysterious Theseus. If they are vanquished, the Keepers will be on their own. Chaos and uncertainty abound. How much longer can the forces of reason hold off this madman?
The board is set, the pieces are in play. Whose side will you join?

For thousands of years, wolves have dwelt in the hidden land of Aries, a secluded land long forgotten by the human race. Aries was home to many hundreds of wolves, growing fat off of the plentiful prey, and reproducing as quickly as flies. None of the creatures seemed to have a care in the world, for the Land of Aries was heaven upon Earth. Yet it had always been foretold that their fragile world would one day shatter, and so the time came of the Completion, the day the most powerful prophecy ever fantasized finally became reality. For years, many packs had come and gone, yet the two fiercest and largest of packs were the Egren and the Valgon Packs. The prophecy had predicted that the thin border of peace between the two packs would hence forth break, and all hell would set loose in the land of Aries.
A war, greater than any war ever known, was fought between the Egren and the Valgon wolves for many long moons. Aries was no longer heaven on Earth, but a wrathful place, dreaded by the fiercest of canines. Even as years passed by, the war never seemed to stop, and with each death of a wolf, more arose to take their place, all fighting with an equal strength.
But though the prophecy had finally come true, no wolf could understand what was next to come. Through the many years, parts of the prophecy had been left, forgotten, and with each bit that faded away, another piece of the puzzle went missing. There wasn’t a single soul that could hope to know what the future brought them; they only knew that there was something more.
As the war raged on, many were divided amongst the packs, fearful of them both, and not sure where their destinies would take them. These wolves became the Rebel Pack, fighting against both the Egren and the Valgon, in hopes of conquering them once and for all, and restore piece in the land of Aries, their beloved home.
Yet as strong as the Rebel Pack grew, they were no match for the strong warriors of the Egren and the Valgon, and they crumbled into oblivion. Their forces scattered, and were safe no more in Aries for they were hated by all of the inhabitants. The remains of the Rebel Pack trekked to a new land, a land where they could live in peace, without the constant memory of the Completion and the Great War, as they called it. But it was not meant to be.
The prophecy still seemed to haunt the former Rebel Pack. Every now in then, word would spread that there had been a dream, a dream that predicted what the missing parts of the prophecy had been, and suddenly everyone would feel a chill, rippling down their spines, but still, no one could piece it together. Everything seemed vague, haunting, almost, and even in their new home, the wolves still seemed to be in the midst of Aries.
And then, many years later, the answers were finally awakening, staring down each and every wolf, right in the eye. Each wolf was given a dream, each one telling them to return to the land of Aries, for the wolves that had remained were in desperate need of their help. But no one was prepared to leave their home, and help the wolves who had driven them out. They would not pay heed to their warning, or their brethrens’ desperate howls.
Time went by, and still, dreams followed the wolves, whispering words of wisdom, all instructing them to return to Aries, and help the others fight against an unknown force. And soon, the wolves again were divided in their belief, many persuaded by the mysterious haunts, and others wanting nothing to do with their past and Aries.
It was then when a force was formed, a team of wolves who had volunteered to travel back to Aries and settle the predicament once and for all. They called in the Mission of Truth, so that they may find out what truly had happened in the Great War, and what help was so urgently needed. Yet the plan back-fired. Many wolves had been against it, and fought the team until they were no more.
Now the troubles seem to have begun once more, for the dreams are fiercer and more persistent. More and more wolves are beginning to believe it is the right thing to return to Aries, and a second pack of wolves has slowly begun to form, in secret, hoping to stand a chance for wait awaited them in Aries. But their trouble starts before their quest begins. Still, wolves have their doubts, furious at this ‘Secret Pack’, and the pack is threatened that they will be demolished once and for all.
As the tension grows between the former Rebels, and the Secret Pack’s numbers grow, you must find your place amongst these wolves if you have any chance of survival. Will you fight back against the Secret Pack, or will you pay heed to Aries’ desperate howls?
Caelius Island « Result #14 on Aug 21, 2008, 4:13pm »
Caelius Island, meaning "heaven", is far from that. Caelius is a huge chunk of land mass in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, that is completely overrun by wild dogs. The island is unmapped and unknown to the public, for a certain reason the government hides. It's been so long ago that the incident occurred, most dog that live there now have been born on the island. Only a few elders remain that remember the horrific story of when they were first abandoned on Caelius.
These dogs have grown up hearing the stories of how it all happened. It's been said that some scientists working for the government were messing around in the lab one day. After mixing and creating new chemicals they believed to have found some sort of cure. They tested the so called cure on mice and rats first, and when it seemed to be going well, they started to use cats, dogs, and other species.
Not long after, they discovered something had gone wrong. Through the cure, a new disease formed, that only affected dogs. The virus sweeped across the nation, so quickly, that they were unsure of how it spread. It was very deadly and if a human were bitten by an infected dog, death was most likely to occur.
The government was in panic. They tried to stop the spread of the virus and find a cure, but the results were inconclusive. Drastic measures had to be taken, as many people and canines have already experienced deaths.
Trying to keep it a secret as best as they could, the government enforced each and every canine in the country to be tested. If results came out positive, they would be shipped off to an island far out into the Pacific. They left a reasonable supply of fresh, living, meat, and ensured that there was fresh water sources across the island. With so much breeding and reproducing, they eventually became immune to the virus.
Caelius was big enough for the canines to split up into there own groups and live among there own species of dog. Fights broke out every so often, and eventually it turned into one huge war. Not many dogs populated the island at that time, but most of the species were, the once-domesticated dogs, and wolves - They were the only survivors. Today, they try their best to live at peace, only few fights tend to break out, and hardly any wars occur.
As the dogs expanded further into the island they made new discoveries, one of which was a vast area of ancient ruins. The history of the past civilizations lays unknown, but many new things are still uncovered. The dogs make use of the ruins anyway possible. So many stories to uncover. So many wars to fight. Can heaven really be found in the middle of an ocean?
